Superman Vs. Bioman
Superman Returns premieres today and I'm watching it in IMAX 3D this Sunday! We actually bought tickets three weeks ago and by then, most of the screening schedules were already full.
When I was a kid, I've always been intrigued why most girls older than me (say, my teacher) call their boyfriends or crushes "Superman." I mean, why does my teacher want her boyfriend to become a comic character?
I've always thought it was cheesy. Aside from the fact that it's "me" they are talking to, Christopher Reeves does not belong to my generation. I like Superman but I'd probably want to become a Bioman. Instead of wanting to become Lois Lane, I've pictured myself as Chloe Sullivan.
Superman has never been gone, but I was just able to identify him in his role in Smallville and in his contributions to the Justice League. By the time I got interested in comic books, Archie was on my desk.
This weekend, I'd probably be able to familiarize myself with Superman in a different (and definitely larger) point of view (all fun pun intended). I'd be able to see the man who popularized briefs over pants and how he survived saved the world (while in them).
Let's see how 3D works. *wink*

I also had my own share of being addicted to Superman -- Smallville, actually. When I was still staying somewhere along Katipunan (yes, the Areneo area), school was just a jeepney away. Before I go to class, I'd watch several episodes for an hour or two.
I have a copy of the soundtrack and I listen to it even until now, often on my way to work.
One scene I cannot forget is the funeral of Whitney's dad scored with Eva Cassidy's version of Tima After Time.
Whitney grieves. Lana assists Whitney. Clark stares at Lana. Chloe stares at Clark.
