And then you said, "Sorry if I heart you..."

By then, I didn't understand.

I now realized I never listened.

'Coz I was more grounded to the voice inside my head than to reality.

Which was how I felt.

LUGAW...

posted by letter shredder at 1:38 PM

It was Jeffrey who invited us there. He's going back to NC on Tuesday night. I told him I had a crush on him when we were in high school. And... in front of informal-ex-turned-informal-girlfriend.

You know...

In the legal transcript I am editing right now, I encountered a witness who's supposed to be a... rapper!

Most of her statements contain "you know" and the transcript becomes commaphilic. I can actually imagine her with a bling bling!

=====

I've had a few surprises these days.

Yesterday, I bumped into Lec on my way to work. He told me he's going to give me a copy of their first single "Psycho."

*in the tune of Bioman's team*

Mahal ko siya ngunit... psycho siya...

This morning, a friend from high school sent me a message saying she's read my blog!

Watdapek!

I appreciate it when people take time to check my blog. But my high school friends? I wish they would but I hope none of my entries would end up in confrontations.

Somehow, I explained to her that my entries were just about how I perceived things then. Well, it's not everyday that I get to update my blog. So I told her that I have some thoughts about the guy but I didn't have time to post them. It was settled.

But she found out about Jeffrey.

Hahaha!

=====

Speaking of Jeffrey, he wasn't able to come in the house for lunch. He said he woke up late.

I know he's meeting her then so I told him to prioritize what should be prioritized. Sure I would like him being in our house. But if he'd only stay there for a while, I don't think it's worth it.

He thanked me for being understanding.

Fuck priorities!

So I was upset for a while. Then I just chose to think that I've been waiting for a couple of hours and SHE has been waiting for him for years.

So, instead of being upset, I chose to find a way to make the day special. I asked Neneng if she could come and she said yes. I asked Jeff and he said he would also come after their meeting. He actually planned but he thought it was too late to come to the house.

Evening came. I held my breath. But only for a while. Hehehe.

So went to the house, met my parents, ate dinner. Then we went to fetch Neneng who's in her Lola's (who wasn't a showgirl too) house.

RJ, Jeje, Romeo (loverboy! what a name!) and Shay have also arrived.

Then we watched the mini-concert that featured Kiko Machine. Through Bob, we went in for free.

After Kiko Machine... booze at home!

RJ and Jeff brought the others back to Maragondon early and Neneng stayed with me. The two returned for some more drinks.

Then we discussed many things. A lot were more about high school. At times I feel left out because I come from another section. All four of us become classmates only during our first year.

Neneng gave me a something-smells-fishy/I-know-what-you're-into look. The same look she gives me when I talk of Oman.

Denied it. Hahaha!

Then punchline of the meeting:

At 8am, while eating lugaw somewhere in Tanza, he asked me,

DO YOU LIKE RJ?

Bwahahahaha!

Concocted Emotions #1

Sunken

Sa pagbagsak ng ulan,

bumuhos ang luhang marumi.

Sa kanyang pag-upo roon,

nakita niya ang mundong abala

at parang masaya.

Sumabay ng pagsilip ng buwan

ang pagsiwang ng kinupit na liwanag.

Sa dakong iyon,

sa pagtalungko niya roon,

tumunghay ang lungkot.

Pumunit ang tahimik na pag-iyak.

Pansamantala,

nagmistulang musika ang mga hikbi niya.

Umamot ng kaunting simpatya

sa isipang matagal nang hapo.

Buntunghininga

ang tanging sagot,

sa bawat bakit at ano.

Doon sa kanyang pag-upo,

nakiramay sa kanya ang mga tala.

Yumupyop ang mga sanga

ng mga punong hindi makapagsalita

at hindi makaluha.

Tumahimik ang hangin

at nagbigay galang sa kanyang pamimighati.

Sa maikling sandali, sinikap niyang sairin

ang umaalong lungkot.

Pinilit niyang ipinta

ang ngiting dating nakapagkit.

Tumawad ng kaunti pang sandali.

Ngunit ipinagkait ang saya

na minsan niyang nakilala.

Sa pag-upo niyang iyon,

dinaig ng sakit ang pagkainip.

Naghintay pa siya,

ng aninong nais niyang makita.

Doon sa bandang gitna,

sa may mga damong dinilig ng luha,

hinintay kita.

POOHlitics

So he’s having lunch at home tom… errr later.

I won’t panic anymore. *crosses finger*

And I found out that he has not talked to her yet. And after he eats lunch in our place, he’ll meet her.

I asked him why he went home (if the Philippines is still considered his home). He told me the next chance he could come here is very indefinite so he grabbed the chance he had now. And that he also wanted to see his cousins and eat some food from here.

Then I asked him if also for the closure with “informal ex.” He said yes. He told me they haven’t met yet since he came back. And that he’s clueless of what to tell her. From the previous conversations we had sometime in August, he told me that he was a jerk at the same time, using the hurricane as an excuse (not to mention creative and original). He didn’t use the hurricane per se, but rather not explaining that “Isabel” was a hurricane ended their relationship. And he knew it was also a matter of distance.

Thinking of how he’d meet her makes me think of her, too. We were really close during our second year in high school until she transferred to another class in third year. It was then that she got close to my bestfriend, Neneng, coz they were in the same class.

Somehow, during our fourth year, I knew what was between them. I got to talk to her at times and I usually walk till the jeepney stop with him after class. Often, I’d discuss with him how I dealt with Benson and Oman that day. He knew everything about it and he’d often tell me, “It’s his loss.” And I’d laugh at it.

We became close during our first year in a forsaken science high school. I was so fond of his accent because he comes from Maragondon. I actually laugh at everyone who had the same accent so it was no wonder why I acquired it myself.

We never really got in touch again after high school. I know he comes to the university that I am in to watch some concerts but we never planned to meet and do watch spend some time together. *evil grin*

His flight to the US was very unexpected. I just found out he already left.

Then one time, I received a message from him saying he has read my blog.

*prays he doesn’t read my recent posts*

We got to exchange some messages specially during the Christmas break. Once he called and I wasn’t able to hide how ecstatic I was. Then he gave me a testimonial at Friendster.

Ah the sweet luv that is jaycee… it should be bottled by the ounce and sold like pricey perfume…

We got busy with school again. Until last August, we bumped into each other through YM. I was busy finding work while he was reviewing for the nursing exam. We updated each other and after a while, he began calling me “Pooh” (which is another story, I laugh really hard when I remember this). And I call him “Isabel” (which makes me laugh even more).

And even when he sends me some messages right now, he calls me Pooh. So I started calling him Isabel again.

*yawns*

I want to sleep. I have a long day ahead. I think I won’t be nervous, but I have to practice how to smile.

And hide that high school feeling I am experiencing once again.

Sooooo High School

He’s here! He’s here!

He’s back from NC!

Neneng just told me Jeffrey is back and would be staying until the 25th.

I was already asleep when Nana woke me up because Sydney isn’t home yet. I checked my phone, which is already under my pillow, and saw six unread messages. Three were from Neneng, two weare from my officemate (the ultra electro magnetic paranoid) Ricca and one is from Alvin who has been texting like crazy earlier, before I hit the sack.

I read the messages Neneng sent me and first saw the business card. It’s a number with the name Jepoi.

Huh?

I read again.

Neneng’s second message says HE’S HERE.

If lacto bacilli is good for digestion, I might need some. Better yet, give me something good for brain absorption.

I’m not the screaming type but I felt numb for a few seconds. Then…

*panic panic panic*

My high school crush is back!

I replied to Neneng and asked her.

She told me they’ve already met.

What? That sounds unfair. He told me I’d be the first to know if he’s comin back.

After a few minutes, I became more logical. But I texted him and said I’ve prepared the t-shirts and the balloons for his arrival at the airport. That’s how I tell him I’d welcome him. Probably why he didn’t let me fetch him from the airport.

I read the text again and Neneng said HE WANTS TO SEE ME!

*panic panic panic*

And then reality bit. Has he seen her? Have they talked? Are they formally breaking up? Or this might just be the start of something else?

During our conversations, I was the one telling him to talk to her and somehow, make everything formal.

She’s one of my best friends in high school, too.

As Jeffrey said, when he told me what happened and why they broke up due to Isabel, which was a hurricane in their relationship (and don’t tax your brain coz it’s really a hurricane that hit NC). Yeah, they broke up using the hurricane as an excuse and every story that came with it.

I’m sure he’s being here isn’t only because of the vacation he wanted. Hope he settles things with her… If they don’t get back with each other, I just hope they still become friends.

I hope they become friends.
